Specimen Requirements

Preferred:
Container/Tube: Grey Top (Potassium Oxalate)
Minimum Volume: 0.5 mL Plasma (2 mL Blood)
Collection Instructions: Clean venipuncture site with Non-alcoholic, germicidal solution – providone iodine or castile soap wipe
Also Acceptable:
Container/Tube: Random Urine

Specimen Stability

Do not uncap tube once specimen is drawn. Specimen must arrive within 2 hours of draw. Samples should be analyzed without delay and immediately after opening the sample tube.
