Use precautions. This test is for screening/testing for HIV-1 and HIV-2 antibody and p24 antigen. It is not to be ordered for confirmation of previously positive HIV patients. Preliminary positive results must be confirmed.
Useful For
Screening test for the qualitative detection of antibodies to Human Immunodeficiency Virus types 1, including group M and O, and/or 2 (anti-HIV-1 and anti-HIV-2) and HIV p24 antigen in human plasma in adults, pregnant women, adolescents and children (as young as 2 years of age).
Interferences
Samples containing biotin concentrations ≥150ng/mL can cause false negative p24 Antigen results.
