Specimen Requirements
Preferred:
Container/Tube: Red Top Tube (No Gel) and a 2hr Urine Collection
Minimum Volume: 1 mL Serum and 3 mL Urine
Collection Instructions: Collect a 2 hour urine specimen with simultaneous serum draw.
Also Acceptable:
Container/Tube: Serum, Heparin plasma, Other SST-Gel Tubes
Specimen Stability
Urine:
Ambient: 2 hours
Refrigerate: 24 hours
Frozen: aliquot for longer storage
Serum:
Ambient: 8 hours
Refrigerate: 48 hours
Frozen: aliquot for longer storage
