Lab Handling

The specimen must be kept as anaerobic as possible prior to analysis because exposure to air causes a falsely increased pH measurement. The sample tube should be full. If the sample tube is not filled or if the sample was not kept anaerobic for another reason, append a comment to the result to indicate the possibility of the false elevation using the canned text “LFLPH” which states:
