Specimen Requirements
Preferred:
Container/Tube: 10 mL Fluid in a Sterile Tube or Syringe
Minimum Volume: 0.5 mL
Collection Instructions: Skin decontamination with providone iodine. Use asceptic aspiration with a syringe and needle, place immediately into tubes provided by the lab (for Synovial or Serous fluid collection lab kits)
Specimen Stability
Ambient: Transport to the lab as soon as possible
Refrigerate: 2 Weeks
