Specimen Requirements
Preferred:
Container/Tube: Corneal scrapings, purulent material, sterile saline moistened swab.
Minimum Volume: 1 Swab
Collection Instructions: Corneal scrapings and internal eye cultures are to be obtained by the physician only. If purulent material is present, it should be collected on a swab using aseptic technique. Transport to the Lab as soon possible.
