Specimen Requirements

Preferred:
Container/Tube: Gold Top (SST-Gel)
Minimum Volume: 0.5 mL
Collection Instructions: Separate serum for cells ASAP or within 2 hours.  Transfer 0.5 mL serum to an ARUP Standard Transport Tube  (absolute min 0.15 mL)

Specimen Stability

After separation from cells

Ambient: 48 hours
Refrigerate: 2 weeks
Frozen: 6 months

  Candida Antibody IgA
0.88 EV or less Negative - No significant level of detectable Candida albicans antibody.
0.89-0.99 EV Equivocal - Questionable presence of antibodies. Repeat testing in 10-14 days may be helpful.
1.00 EV or greater Positive - Antibody to Candida albicans detected, which may indicate a current or past infection.

 

  Candida Antibody IgM
0.88 EV or less Negative - No significant level of detectable Candida albicans antibody.
0.89-0.99 EV Equivocal - Questionable presence of antibodies. Repeat testing in 10-14 days may be helpful.
1.00 EV or greater Positive - Antibody to Candida albicans detected, which may indicate a current or past infection.
