Minimum Volume: 1 gram
Collection Instructions: Formed stools will be rejected. Unformed or liquid ONLY.

Lab Handling
Specimens submitted for Clostridium difficile toxin should be transported to the laboratory within 1 hour or should be refrigerated. Only 1 gram of stool is required. Formed stools will be rejected. Unformed or liquid ONLY. Also, any antibiotic therapy the patient has been undergoing should be noted.
