Important Note

All Stools ordered for O+P must have a Crypto/Giardia Antigen ordered on them. By BVH protocols, all specimens ordered for an O+P will be reflex changed to Crypto/Giardia Antigen. The only exceptions to this is for the following doctors:  pediatricians and gastroenterologists and Dr. Ratnasamy. All other specimens will be changed unless a specific reason is given, such as the patient being out of the country, or camping outdoors. Please use your best judgement when determining whether to order an additional O+P. When in doubt, call the physician or caregiver’s office and ask.
